4 steps to staying healthy during the holiday season

Know what your current health status is

It is always important to know what your health status is, prior to the holiday season. If you have not done so, have a physical examination done by your physician and follow his or her guidelines for the holiday season. If you are normally a healthy person, then you are probably doing things that are healthy at Christmas time and throughout the rest of the holiday season. There are many things that you can do to improve your health status.
Start to plan your holiday season early

When you start to plan your holiday season early, you will be much more organized and also become more aware of the approximate amount of time you will have available, for the unexpected things, or events that are inevitable, during the holiday season. Christmas can be fun!
Start to make healthy decisions for the holiday season

How does one start to make healthy decisions for the holiday season? Begin to plan your events and family occasions, in terms of health, both your own and that of others. What kinds of events and family occasions will help and encourage everyone to stay healthy? You probably know what these are likely to be. You also know what kinds of events and family occasions could potentially lead to health problems and avoid these if possible.
Begin by setting a healthy example for others

When you set a healthy example for others, they often will begin to follow your lead, sometimes even unknowingly. Everyone wants to be healthy, but may not know how to achieve a healthy life status. Always remember that children do follow the example set by their parents, so set a good example. You will be glad that you did.
